Needle are the core essential and just like thread the better the quality the better the result.

Blunt or wrong needle size or type can give poor tension, loopy stitches or skipped stitches. Having the right needle for job and/or fabric will make a massive difference. Needles do need to be changed regulary as they do go blunt.

To determine the right needle size for fabric thickness, just remember the higher the needle size number the thicker the fabric. If using a thicker thread for topstitching, a larger eye needle is needed, which occur in higher size number needle.

With such a range of fabric types and poularity of fabric such as scuba, different needle types are becoming more important in order to sew your project.
