First in the 5 series range of sewing machines. It provides extra space to the the right of the needle and a responsive touch screen.
 
Stitches - total 1048, including 30 utility, 14 automatic buttonholes including eyelets. Plus 300 decorative, 44 traditional quilting/patchwork, 31 cross stitches, 5 alphabets. (Each letter and number counts towards stitch total). Maximum stitch length 6 mm, maximum stitch width 9 mm.
 
Full colour touch screen - displays all stitches, making it easier to select and more intuitive to use. Any adjustments to the stitches are shown in real time.
 
Rotation dials for width and length adjustment, can be changed whilst sewing.
 
Sewing consultant - advises for best needle and settings for the fabric used. Built in tutorials offer onscreen support without you having to keep looking at your manual, making it user friendly.
 
On screen help - unsure of what an icon or button does, simply press the question mark then the unknown icon and its description is displayed on the screen. 
 
Built in tutorials - trouble shooting and frequently asked questions are available at a touch of a button. From how to put the bobbin in to creating buttonholes, select the topic and the screen will display an explanation and in some instances a video.
 
Semi long arm - gives an inside space of 8.5" to the right of the needle, ideal for larger projects and quilts.
 
Built in memory - create names and stitch combinations to personalise your sewing projects.
 
Personal memory (permanent and temporary) - default settings for stitches can be altered to  preferred settings and saved permanently until removed.  Any adjustments are saved even when the machine is switched off. Adjustments to stitch length, width and needle positions are temporary saved as you switch between different stitches. These settings are only saved whilst the machine is on, once switched off stitches will return to default settings.
 
Adaptive thread tension - ensures optimal thread tension during sewing and embroidery and helps  achieve a perfect stitch. After manually adjusting (if required), the thread tension to the thread and fabric, the adaptive thread tension constantly checks the thread tension when sewing, adjusting it unobtrusively and automatically whenever necessary.
 
Jumbo bobbin - larger bobbin that has 70 % more capacity.
 
Automatic presser foot lift - machine will raise and lower the presser foot automatically before and after sewing. The foot can hover leaving needle in the fabric, keeping both hands on fabric. iIeal for pivoting.
 
Automatic thread cutter - trims the bobbin thread underneath after sewing.
 
Foot pedal - with a heel tap function to bring the needle in or out of the fabric.
 
Optional extra - Embroidery - Turn this model into an embroidery machine with the additionof the embroidery module unit. (see right of page).
